The Clinical Eye, With a Designer’s Hand

I have stood in the operating room for over a decade, witnessing the breathtaking complexity of human physiology firsthand. As a surgical assistant, I didn’t just observe; I ensured procedural integrity in environments where accuracy is the only standard. Today, I bring that same clinical rigor to the digital canvas.
I am Elizabeth Farrior, MS, an aspiring Medical Illustrator and clinical technologist dedicated to bridging the gap between the intricate world of medical science and the audiences who need to understand it. I hold a Master of Science in Medical Science from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Technology from The University of Texas at Dallas.
My journey began in the surgical suite and the audiology clinic, where I saw the accessibility gaps that exist when medical information is delivered only through words. I realized that a picture is worth a thousand words, especially when that picture reduces a highly complex, theoretical construct to a clear, actionable schematic. This realization drove me to re-tool my career, merging my 'logical sensibilities' with 'advanced digital media' to become a visual translator for the biocommunication industry.
What sets my work apart is scientific literacy born of immersion. I have observed surgical procedures in real-time and managed 3D research labs. By combining those experiences, I aim to specialize in:
3D Anatomical & Device Modeling:
Creating manufacture-ready and didactic visuals using Rhino, Maya, and Blender.
Surgical Illustration:
Translating complex intraoperative steps into detailed, accurate guides for journals and textbooks.
Patient Education:
Designing 'inclusive and approachable' infographics that empower 'health literacy' across diverse populations."
I am a loyal and persistent team player who values harmony and accuracy in every project. I believe that biocommunication is a collaborative strategy, and I am committed to working closely with physicians, researchers, and engineers to ensure every visual I produce meets exacting standards of professionalism. Let's work together to make your complex science accessible and actionable.
